Congratulations to our final Essential Hero of the week Natalie Brinston at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus!
Nominated by her mother in law Lisa Belluzzo, she says
“Though
there are many people who deserve recognition during this chaos, I would like to
nominate my daughter in law Natalie Brinston. She recently quit her dream job at Sick
Kids Hospital in Toronto to move her kids closer to the grandparents in Windsor. She
was hired immediately at Windsor Regional Met Campus. The courage, bravery and
dedication of this girl simply astonishes me. She was working on the floor filled with
coronavirus patients. Natalie is one to run towards the line of danger when we all
retreat to the safety of our homes. Natalie goes into this battle asking for any extra
available shifts to help patients. She loves that she gets to care for people in ICU
when they are at their weakest and most vulnerable. She will listen to them, laugh
with them, cry with them and hold their hands to make them feel less scared. Then
after fighting this illness for 12 hours, she has to go home and stay away from her
family. I would like to add, she is dealing with a double whammy. Her husband Ryan
Kelly (my son) is a security guard at Windsor Regional Ouellette campus, where Covid
testing occurs, and volunteers for all available shifts. He sacrificed his PPE during
the shortage for doctors and nurses and while he went without. This is also why he
cannot be around their kids. Luckily they have someone who can stay with the kids
around the clock but it is draining their incomes. This proves to me that they care
about helping with this pandemic.”
Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to all of the essential workers around Windsor Essex for all that you do.
Congratulations to this week’s Essential Hero of the week Stephanie Divitaris at Syngenta!
Nominated by her husband Tom, he says “My wife, Stephanie, works in
agriculture and has not stopped working through this entire pandemic. She has preserved
though a lot of tough times, while at the same she has worked hard to keep our kids caught
up with online school work. There are a lot of essential workers, but I think we forget
and take for granted those that keep us feed and keep food on our tables. Please recognize
her For her all her amazing efforts”.
Stephanie will receive a $250 VISA Gift Card courtesy of the Circle of 7. Let us know who your Essential Hero is at am800cklw.com.. We’ll be highlighting essential workers and their contributions on our social media pages, with our next winner being announced next Friday at 7:20.
Congratulations to this week’s Essential Hero of the week Kiara Lenarduzzi at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit!
Nominated by her mom Lil Lenarduzzi, she says
“Many people think
that the nurses heading to the States are not “our” essential workers. I just want to
say that with the large number of people dying in Michigan, our nurses were in the
thick of it, trying to stop it from coming here. Two of her co-workers died. On her
way to work at 5:50am, she called me and we prayed together and on her way back, she
called me to tell me she was safe. She sounded exhausted. It was physically and
mentally draining. People were dying every few minutes in the beginning. She is a
surgical nurse who was pulled off her floor and put into a Covid floor, out of her
element but at a time when everyone was needed. I remember one day she was coming over
the border and was talking to me then said “Oh my God!” and she started crying. I was
panicking for her until she told me that the border guards had made an Honour Guard
tunnel for the nurses to come through as they applauded them. It was so touching. All
nurses work hard but the ones that cross the border saw so much death. I don’t think
my baby girl will ever be able to erase what she witnessed during this
pandemic”
Kiara will receive a $250 VISA Gift Card courtesy of the Circle of 7. Let us know who your Essential Hero is at am800cklw.com. . We’ll be highlighting essential workers and their contributions on our social media pages, with our next winner being announced next Friday at 7:20.
Congratulations to this week’s Essential Hero of the week Katie Dierckensat at Fresh Co!
Nominated by her mom Patty Krech, she says “My daughter who is visually
impaired and high anxiety has worked at the grocery store throughout this entire pandemic.
She had a rough time in the beginning but always felt she had it better than the girls
working on cash. This made her want to do something special for them and also help out a
friend who has a small business. She decided to purchase gift cards for a manicure or Tim
Hortons for all the frontline staff. This made my husband and I so proud and we decided to
help her pay for all the cards. She just turned 30, last week and can’t go out to
celebrate.
Katie will receive a $250 VISA Gift Card courtesy of the Circle of 7. Let us know who your Essential Hero is at am800cklw.com.. We’ll be highlighting essential workers and their contributions on our social media pages, with our next winner being announced next Friday at 7:20.

Nominated by her mom Donna Moore, she says
“My daughter Allyssa
is who I would like to nominate she works at the Ouellette campus as a RPN and got sent to the field hospital
when it opened. She worked every shift no complaints even wearing masks and n95 and
all the PPE and wearing two gowns and hot conditions and taking care of people that
didn't know when they were going home, they were sick, couldn't see their family, and
scared. She had to self-isolate herself from everybody family included not see anybody
not go anywhere she was denied entry into some stores because she was a healthcare
worker and she still did it all and went and didn't complain. She is my hero

Congratulations to this week’s Essential Hero of the week Danielle Duby at Heron Terrace!
Nominated by Melissa Fordham, she says
“Dani would do anything to help those around her. In the midst of an outbreak at her
work, she worked all of her shifts and then some. Even though she was at risk every
day, she knew that the residents relied on her and the other staff members there. She
held her head high every day and smiled, even though she was scared of getting Covid.
She tested positive in April and has been sick since, but eagerly awaited the all
clear to return to work to be able to see those who depend on her daily. She is
selfless, like everyone else on the front line, but she's my hero””.

Congratulations to this week’s Essential Hero of the week Ashley Ratsoy at Canada Post and LCBO!
Nominated by her brother Kyle, he says
“My sister Ashley, works two jobs and raises two kids as a single mother! She works at
Canada post and LCBO. She always works hard to make sure her kids are well taking care
of. Without school it’s been very hard. From the beginning of the pandemic, Ashley has
continued to work both jobs and make sure people are able to get their essential goods
and needs! Not only does she work at Canada post full time as an essential worker she
works at LCBO as an essential worker. Taking on two jobs is exhausting let alone
continuing to work two jobs that have been deemed essential throughout this pandemic.
Ashley is very deserving of this award as I’m sure many are”.
